Great Open Letter to Tom Brown, From the Master...

Joe Olvera is the master of great commentary in this town. I can't top it, so why try. Read the words of the Grand Master in a great open letter to Tom Brown.

By the way, if you are a business that wants to put an ad in front of a lot of people, you might want to consider sponsoring Joe Olvera's column.

Go here to read it: http://www.riograndedigital.com/2011/08/05/an-open-letter-to-pastor-tom-brown/

A certain former (and disgraced) state representative who is going nuts on her facebook about the recall election (the same former and disgraced state rep who "outed" her opponent and became widely known as someone who doesn't mind stooping to gay bashing to win an election) should read the wise Chicano's column about this issue. Thanks for posting it, Jaime. And thanks for standing up to bullies.

Insightful, but he makes a mistake by citing:David J. Stewart’s tome: “Tom Brown’s Heresies – Exposed.”

Really, you can't use someone else's religious dogma to demonize Tom Brown. It's just another interpretation, as there are many, of the Bible. Stewart just shows he is an adversary of Brown (or perhaps the charismatics), but he is no more or less qualified as far as I am concerned. I am always wary of someone who starts throwing in Biblical citations out of context to justify an personal interpretation (wait, he is doing the same thing as Brown).

So, I will sensor (in my head) that last sentence and walk away with the rest of the commentary.

BTW, what is the LGBT community doing on this respect? I'd love to see some guts there.
