Refugees in El Paso

Listen, since the tragedy in Paris last week there has been a blur of conversations dealing with everything from gun control to religion control to the plight of refugees.

I can't begin to tell you how wrong the conservative right is on this issue. Do I start with their pro-life stance? Or do I start with their answer to Black Lives Matter being All Lives Matter.

Oops, except those of refugees. Those don't matter.

Seriously they should just come out and say what they really mean.

All White Lives Matter.

Hell they can't even make a biblical argument.

Actually speaking of conservatives, let me stop for a moment and say that I'm surprised David K hasn't blamed Paris on either me or Rep Ordaz (yet). I'm sure he'll work in her recent trip to the Holy Land as being more than just a coincidence.

Any who, back to a couple more thoughts about the Paris tragedy.

If those of you on the right who love to regurgitate bumper sticker politics and say stuff like "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" then you have to agree that religion doesn't kill people, people kill people.

So far several mayors across the country and across Texas have come out, probably in response to an equal amount of governors who have said they will not, saying they will take in refugees.

I'm wondering what the position of our own Mayor Oscar Leeser is on the issue. Lets find out where he stands on the issue since other mayors have said they would take in refugees.

Now for the anti-immigrant crowd like Barbara Carrasco and others, it will be really interesting to watch them have a melt-down over this one. Especially because we live in a state where it is so easy to acquire a fire arm.

The gun rights people recognize there is a major problem for them. They are fine with nice white folk owning fire arms, but as soon as you get dark skinned people with foreign names in the Lone Star State where its so easy to get guns, watch them freak the hell out.

There is nothing wrong with being gun shy about getting refugees without a stronger vetting process in place.
Everyday there are more and more Democrats emerging with concerns about the President's ideas and policies. It does not mean they are racist or wrong. It means they are being cautious with good reason.
All lives matter, including American lives and Texan lives, and common sense should not be sacrificed on the altar of political correctness.

Jaime
Your post is total BS and a poor attempt at non-sense race baiting at it's worst. First off being Muslim is not a race.
Hey last time I check owning firearms in America was not based on a race test either. Need to come to my hood Jaime a whole lot of brown people with guns and does not seem any one has inhibited their right to gun ownership.
Yep there is nothing in the constitution that would allow governors of any state to prohibited refuge relocation by the Federal government.
Already today at least one group of Syrians trying to come to the U.S. through Honduras with stolen Greece passports. So I guess the Hondurans are racist to for stopping and arresting them.
Oh you may want to also check KVIA's poll if still up seems a majority in EL Paso, the Democrat bastion of Texas, does not seem to want them either. This must be racism also.
For people like you to understand the true danger of Islamic movement several tens of thousands of innocent Americans will have to be killed in our streets before you wake up to the facts of this religion. Oh Jaime I'm not a Christian.
As to BLM seems they can't be bother to show up at the real killing fields of Blacks in America. Yep Lives matter!

The only one blurring the conversation is the LyingStar, as usual. ISIS stands for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. After the attack in Paris, its only natural to be more cautious about admitting people from Syria. The truth is that Republicans and Democrats alike have expressed a lack of faith in the Obama administration's vetting of immigrants from that country. It's only prudent that we ask questions about the vetting process, and seek to stop such migration if we cannot fully assure that the people coming in are not enemies of the state. Invoking the typical loony liberal attack on republicans in the wake of the tragedy in Paris just goes to show how severely out of touch you are with the real issues. Seriously, equating gun control, religious zealots, racists, black lives matter activists, and the questions regarding Ordaz and yourself with the very reasonable conversation about Syrian migration, is just plain bonkers. Please seek help; you obviously need it.

Seems like some of your party in House just were racist today to Jaime.
Jaime it's not about race or gun rights activist it's about national security so maybe you may want to rethink your stance on this one.

A mayor or council shouldn't deal in hypotheticals or make votes on issues outside their pay grade and authority.

It wastes time an energy and is all posturing. Maybe Leeser knows this.
